Couple.me is a browser-based companion site from FAB AI LTD, a London company, where you design a realistic or anime partner from scratch and add pictures, voice notes and a video-style chat on top of text. The terms spell out the deal: five free messages, then a monthly or annual plan that includes 100 tokens a month for media. It suits adults who want one custom partner more than a huge catalogue.
How the companion is built
The heart of Couple.me is a four-step creation wizard. You name the character and pick a realistic or anime look, then set the face and hair (ethnicity, eye colour, hairstyle, hair colour), the body type and outfit, and finally the inner life: voice, personality traits, a job, hobbies and the kind of relationship you want, from friend or crush to girlfriend or roommate. The age setting starts at 18, which is the right default for an adult site.
You are not tied to one partner. The FAQ says you can build several characters and edit them later, and a Guys tab sits next to Girls for anyone who prefers an AI boyfriend. Ready-made companions exist as well: the one profile I opened, Aria, is pitched as a startup founder with a taste for whiskey, and her chat window has Single and Group tabs plus a button to request a video. The browse grid itself did not render for me, so I cannot confirm the size of the roster beyond the site's own claim of more than 100 girlfriends.
What the chat is like
The sex chat page sells the experience as adult and unfiltered: flirting, dirty talk and erotic roleplay that adapts to whatever tone you set, with a clear note that you are talking to software and not to a person on a webcam. On memory, the FAQ is more modest than the marketing. It says the character draws on your recent messages and that longer-term recall improves as you keep talking, which sounds like a rolling chat history rather than a memory panel you can view and edit.
One detail matters for anyone planning explicit roleplay. The terms describe a moderation filter built on the company's own language model that scans conversations, and flagged chats can be read by staff, with account closure as a possible outcome. That backs up the written ban on anything involving people under 18, which is good, but it also means private does not always mean unread. One more caution: the site's own Candy alternatives article ranks Couple.me first, so read that piece as advertising, not as an independent test.
Images, voice and video
Pictures are made from a prompt box tied to a character you have already created, so the same face carries over from one image to the next. Preset chips for outfit, action, pose, accessories and scene help you build the request, and wrapping a detail in double quotes gives it extra weight. The form lists a cost of 2 per image, while the terms give subscribers 100 tokens a month to share between images and voice notes, so anyone who wants dozens of pictures will soon need token packs, which the refund rules mention but no public page prices.
Voice is chosen during creation, and replies can arrive as voice notes when your plan and balance allow it. The headline extra is AI video chat, a video-style view in which the companion reacts on screen while you talk. The page is upfront that this is not a live call with a real person and that everything is generated. Without an account I could not see how long or how explicit these clips are, so treat the feature as a bonus rather than the main reason to pay.
The rules on explicit images are also unclear. The sex generator page promises no content filters, yet the community guidelines ask users to avoid depicting explicit sexual activity and allow only implied scenes. Nothing I read explains which of the two applies inside the generator.
What it really costs
Pricing is the weakest part of the site for a first-time visitor. Every page carries a big premium discount banner, yet there is no public price list: the pricing address returns a not-found page and the subscription page sends logged-out visitors back to the homepage. The only cost facts sit in the terms. After five free messages you land on a payment page offering a monthly or an annual plan, and paying unlocks unlimited messaging plus 100 tokens every month.
Plans renew automatically for the same length of time. You cancel from your account settings with an Unsubscribe button, the plan stays active to the end of the period you already paid for, and switching plans only takes effect from the next billing cycle. Refunds are strict: you have 24 hours to ask, a subscription refund is refused once you have spent more than 20 tokens, token packs only come back if they are unused, and only card payments qualify. If you intend to test the image tools on day one, assume the money is gone.
Privacy and payments
Couple.me is run by FAB AI LTD from 37 Panton Street in London, and its terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The terms list card, Pay by Bank, PayPal, some country-specific methods and cryptocurrency as ways to pay, which is more choice than many rivals offer. If you pay through Volt, the payment provider receives your email, IP address and country, plus an ID document number for Brazilian users paying with Pix. No billing descriptor is stated on the pages I read.
The privacy policy, last updated in July 2024, says personal data is not sold or traded unless you agree to it, but as a rule it keeps that data for six years after you close your account, and it lists analytics and advertising partners among its data sources. Both legal texts contain names of other brands left over from a template, Virtualamour.ai in the terms and Usway in the privacy policy, which does not suggest careful drafting.
On safety, the written rules are better than average. The blocked content policy forbids any attempt to generate content that looks like someone under 18 and bans deceptive impersonation of real people or celebrities. The community guidelines add a ban on aged-up characters from source material and on realistic images of real individuals, and users cannot upload photos at all. Age checks, however, rely on a self-declared 18+ gate.
Pros and cons
What works
- Detailed builder: realistic or anime style, looks, voice, job, hobbies and relationship type, with ages from 18 up
- Images are generated from your saved character, so the face stays the same across pictures
- Voice notes and a video-style chat on top of text, all in the browser with no app to install
- Card, Pay by Bank, PayPal and crypto accepted, and you can cancel any time from settings
- Written bans on under-18 looks, aged-up characters and real-person likeness, and no photo uploads
What does not
- No public price list: plans only appear after sign-up
- The free trial ends after five messages
- Refunds only within 24 hours and only before 20 tokens are spent, card payments only
- 100 monthly tokens at 2 per image will not stretch far for heavy image users
- Template leftovers from other brands in the legal texts and a six-year data retention period
- Mixed messages on how explicit generated images may be
Verdict
Couple.me makes sense if you want to design one companion in detail, keep her face consistent across pictures and add voice or a video-style chat, and you care about written rules against under-18 looks and real-person likeness. It is a poor fit if you want to see prices before registering, plan to generate lots of images, or need time to decide: five free messages and a 24-hour refund window leave little room for second thoughts.
Our score: 3.4/5
