What the story is about
The hero is a knight born outside the royal line, which means he has talent but no claim. When a witch from the Blackwood offers him help in taking power, the deal is built on mutual appetite: she supports his rise, and he gives her his nights in return.
From that point the series is a game of leverage. Each of them wants something, neither fully trusts the other, and the throne room is only one of the places where a contest of wills takes place. Both characters are adults who knowingly enter the arrangement.
World and atmosphere
The look leans into dark fantasy: stone halls, candlelight, black forest and silks against armour. It is closer to a gothic romance than to a battle epic, so do not expect large armies. The focus stays on a small cast and the charged space between them.
The witch is the standout. She is written as patient and amused, someone who has seen kings come and go and is sure of her own value. That confidence gives the story its edge.
Who will enjoy it
This suits viewers who prefer fantasy to modern settings, who like power-exchange tension and who enjoy a villain-adjacent heroine. It is less suited to anyone wanting a gentle love story, since scheming and ambition sit at the heart of it.
If you have enjoyed other fantasy entries on Candy Shorts, such as those with queens, knights or palace intrigue, this belongs in the same family.
Free part and unlock
The free episodes are a clean introduction. You meet the knight, hear the offer and get your first look at the witch, and they finish just as the bargain begins to bite. Nothing adult is shown there.
The remaining episodes require tokens at the price shown on the Candy page. As value goes, I find fantasy series like this one easier to recommend than most, because the setting gives the story momentum beyond the heat. If the preview did not pull you in, though, the rest follows the same pattern.
Chat option
The queue ties the series to a chat persona, should you want to stay in this world after the episodes. It is a bonus rather than a requirement.
